Pazhamudhir cholai- Madurai

From Kallazhagar temple to Pazhamudhir cholai temple it is 3kms as we need to travel towards the top of the hill. The way en route is scenic with lush green trees. Pazhamudhir cholai is one of the 6 abodes of Lord Muruga. It is believed that Lord Muruga tested poet and saint Avvaiyar here.

Temple is open on all days and starts quite early – from 5.30 am to 7.30pm

Kallazhagar temple:

The temple is located at the foothills of the Azhagar hills. Lord Vishnu is the main deity of this temple. Not to be confused with the Koodal Azhagar temple. Although both are Vishnu temples but are distantly located.

Visiting hours of the temple are 6 am to 12.30 pm and 3.30 pm to 8 pm. About 20kms from Madurai city.

We took an Ola cab to reach the temple from our place of stay. It would take almost an hour to see around and have darshan.

Distance from Chennai to Madurai:  452km

Madurai is known for: Meenakshi amman temple, Ancient monuments, Madurai malli (jasmine) , Madurai mess, Jigarthanda (a coolant drink)
